RATO GENERATOR SET R8500D-TB2
RATO GENERATOR SET R8500D-TB2
The RATO R8500D-TB2 is a powerful and compact RATO gasoline generator / aggregate of professional quality. This professional 8500W petrol generator provides excellent performance and has 1 x 230 Volt and 1 x 400 Volt connections. The continuous power is 8500W. It has a 100% copper winding. The R8500D-TB2 has a CCE32A 3-pin connection (adapter cable CCE32A 3-pin to Schuko 230V is supplied as standard). The advantage of the CCE32A connection is that you can use tools with a higher start-up value. The fuse of this connection is 32A. In addition, the machine also has a 400 Volt (16A) connection. The generating set has overload protection and the motor can be started either manually or electrically.
The generating set has overload protection and the motor can be started either manually or electrically. Total power is 8500 Watts (short time during start up). Continuous power is 8000 Watt (can be used continuously).
The generator is equipped with AVR security. AVR stands for an automatic volt regulation. This means a continuous voltage while an overload protection provides the necessary security. This protects your connected electrical machines from peak voltages. The generator is equipped with an LCD display with voltmeter and fuel gauge. The 25 liter tank capacity means you can use the generator for long periods of time.
PAY ATTENTION! The machine is equipped with 1 x 230 volt connections and 1 x 400 volt connection.
Peak current draw
Most electrical appliances require a little more power from the generator when starting up. This is called peak current draw. With a generator there is a risk that the continuous power and/or perhaps even the maximum total power will be exceeded.
If the maximum power is exceeded during “start-up”, the unit is 'too light' to start the device. The R6000 generator then switches itself off automatically to prevent any damage to equipment.
A solution to the above problem is to connect the equipment in a different order. Always connect the device with the highest power/highest peak current first. If this works correctly and properly, you can also connect the rest, in order of power.
It is important that you never connect all devices at the same time. For some devices, the solution described above is not sufficient.
These devices require such a high peak power consumption that you should take this into account when purchasing a generator. Tools or machines without starting current limiter are a well-known example. This includes compressors, high-pressure cleaners, angle grinders, breakers/hammers, welding equipment, but also refrigerators and air conditioners. With these devices you have to multiply the power of this by a factor of 3 to sometimes 7 to see if the generator is suitable. Check this with the supplier of your machines.
Suppose you want to connect a 230 Volt angle grinder without starting current limiter with a power of 900 watts to the generator. In that case you have to multiply the 900 watts by 3. This results in a peak power consumption of 2700 Watts. When you choose a generator, it must therefore have a total power of at least 2700 Watt (at 230 Volt).
